– Three months Taiwan PhD Scholarship –
The CEFC will award two three-month PhD scholarships for fieldwork research or dissertation writing in Taiwan (the research stay will start in January 2022). The scholarship comprises a monthly stipend of 1200 Euros. The PhD scholarship can be renewed for three additional months, after the completion of the three first months, after validation of the scientific committee.
Eligibility
- PhD candidates citizens of a member State of the European Union or PhD candidates outside the European Union enrolled in a French university or a university in a member State of the European Union, in the field of the Social Sciences or Humanities.
- reside in Taiwan during the length of their scholarship. Due to the pandemic, only PhD candidates already residing in Taiwan and/or possessing the Taiwanese nationality can apply.
- submit a research project relevant to the scientific mission of the CEFC, which is to study the political, economic, social and cultural developments in Greater China.
Within the framework of this grant, beneficiaries accept to:
- Submit to the CEFC a short report on their research, which may be included for example in the annual activity report of the Centre.
- Present their research during a seminar in Taipei at the end of the scholarship period.
Application Requirement
The file should include:
- a research project (5 pages max bibliography excluded, Times New Roman 12 font, 1.5 line spacing)
- a detailed CV
- a cover letter
- proof of residency in Taiwan (ARC, APRC, visa, or Taiwanese identity card)
Assessment will be based upon the following criteria which should be addressed clearly in the research project:
- Aim of the research
- Methodology/Sources/Fieldwork
- Provisional Calendar
- Writing skills in French or English
